Science Month


A
t its core, “Harnessing the Unknown” invites society to lean into uncertainty — to treat gaps in knowledge or unsolved questions not as hindrances but as opportunities for creativity, discovery, and transformation. Pairing that with “Powering the Future through Science and Innovation” emphasizes that progress in the coming decades will likely depend on not only incremental advances but bold leaps into uncharted territories (e.g. quantum technology, AI-augmented discovery). In 2025, with the United Nations declaring it the International Year of Quantum Science and Technology, exploring what is still unknown has global resonance. 

As this celebration unfolds in the Philippines, it offers a platform to bridge scientific communities and the wider public. In practice, this means more science outreach, dialogues about research priorities, showcasing innovations, and fostering public literacy in scientific methods. When citizens better understand how science works — its limitations, uncertainties, and iterative nature — they can more meaningfully engage with policy, ethics, and societal trade-offs like in adopting new technologies, regulating AI, or making environmental decisions.



In sum, the 2025 National Science Month theme is more than a slogan: it is a call for a cultural shift. It suggests that in the coming decades, scientists and non-scientists alike will need to embrace uncertainty, foster curiosity, and take collective responsibility in shaping science’s direction. Science will not simply serve society from above; it will co-evolve with society, with mutual influence, shared responsibility, and a renewed emphasis on values like equity, sustainability, and public engagement.

 a. What are the learning/discoveries that I have gained?

This Second Quarter, I have gained a deeper understanding of the lessons and topics discussed in class.


b. What are the problems/challenges that I have encountered?

This quarter, I encountered several challenges such as difficulty in understanding some lessons, managing my time between task and personal responsibilities, and sometimes losing motivation due to heavy workloads. 


c. How did I address these challenges?

I addressed these challenges by learning to organize my schedule and prioritize important tasks.


d. Moving on, I will…

Moving on, I will continue to apply the lessons and values I learned this 2nd quarter. Most importantly, I will keep a positive attitude and I will never give up, no matter how challenging it was.

CLIMATE CHANGE

Climate change is one of the most pressing issues of our time, and the Philippines is particularly vulnerable to its impacts. The country's geographical location, with its tropical climate and archipelagic structure, makes it prone to extreme weather events such as typhoons, floods, and storm. Rising global temperatures are altering weather patterns, leading to more frequent and intense natural disasters that devastate communities and destroy lives.


The impacts of climate change are far-reaching and affect various aspects of Filipino lives, including agriculture, water resources, health, and livelihoods. Rising temperatures and changing rainfall patterns affect crop yields, leading to food insecurity and economic losses for farmers. Increased frequency of extreme weather events also strains water resources, leading to droughts or floods that impact access to clean water and sanitation. Climate change health risks, particularly for vulnerable populations such as children, the elderly, and those with pre-existing health conditions. The spread of  diseases like dengue and malaria is also influenced by changing climate conditions.

To build resilience against the impacts of climate change, it is crucial for the Philippines to adopt a multi-faceted approach. This includes investing in climate-resilient infrastructure, such as flood-resistant buildings and improved drainage systems, to minimize damage from extreme weather events. 

Strengthening community awareness and participation in climate action initiatives is also key to fostering a culture of resilience and sustainability. Through these efforts, Filipinos can enhance their capacity to adapt to changing environmental conditions and ensure a more sustainable future for generations to come.

INTRAMURALS 2025


 This is what everyone awaits that Intramurals has brought color, excitement, and unity to the school. This has a series of competitions, the event became a celebration of talent, teamwork, and school spirit.

From the grand opening parade to the breathtaking performances during the cheering competition, the atmosphere was filled with energy and pride. Each grade level showcased not only their athletic abilities but also their creativity, discipline, and determination to bring honor to their teams.


Its dazzling routines and synchronized
 moves that hyped up the crowd.

Sports of Basketball, volleyball, badminton, archery, boxing, swimming where athletes gave their best and displayed true sportsmanship.

Fun Games and Booths that welcomed participation not just from athletes but from the entire school.

Intramurals is not just about winning medals or trophies. It teaches the value of discipline, and resilience. Athletes learned to accept victory with humility and defeat.

It created lasting memories, strengthened friendships, and inspired everyone to continue pursuing both academic and athletic excellence.
